Agfa CR 35-X error E 229F5

December 01, 2012 07:26

Service Engineers,

Actually I am looking for technical support for the following problem
on an Agfa CR-35 .

The AGFA CR-35X is jamming the Image Plates (both: 14x17 & 10x12). This
jamming broke one 10x12 image plate already.

Today, December 1st, 2012 we received a call because the CR had jammed
a 14x17. When we opened the side door, the 14x17 was stuck and there
was another 10x12 hidden stuck behind the cPCI-Rack.

We checked the errors in the maintenance menu and we have many
different errors. This errors are: 24640, 247A4, 247A6, 24305, 247A7,
22570 & 229F5.

Following the maintenance guidelines in the service manual, we gave a
full maintenance to the CR today, followed by multiple scanning tests.

We had 2 failures in 5 different scanning processes: first it "jammed"
the IP, apparently the rolls were unable to move the plate, even
though the plate was not jammed or bended and was removed easily;
second, the cassette did not exit the front slot of the CR correctly
and it fell inside the CR.

Now, the CR fails the initial self-test and shows the error 229F5,
which says that there is a problem with the "slow scan motor", this
error doesn t allow us to continue making tests .

The 2 most frequent errors are 247A6 & 229F5. These errors are
explained as follow:

247A6
Meaning: IP jam in scanner.
Reason: IP jam occurred while transport of IP from scanner position
bar down to light barrier in scanner. Light barrier remains free.
Cure: Open right side cover and put IP into cassette.

229F5
Reason: Slowscan
Module: Motor test of stepper node lift scanrolls failed.
Meaning: Motor not connected or defective.
Cure: Connect motor or replace.

Your help and input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
--

Have you verified your belt tensions? If the belts become worn or streched it does not allow the rollers to put enough contact tension on the IP causing it to slip during transport.

Error Code --> 24794
E_HDCV_UIF_ASK_IDENTIFICATION,
Reason : Handling control module : Error number connected to user interface
confirm text for identification error of cassette to input.
Meaning : User fault of cassette identification.
Cure : Remove cassette and do identification.
buffer with correct orientation.

There is no belt tension on a CR25/35. It's driven in by a cam in the Scan engine.

For the 229F5 error check the BU623 from ST3 to M621, reseat the interconnect. There is a service bulletin out for the 247A4 error that might help. The 22570 could be caused by a bad fuse on the power integration board. Hope some o9f this might be helpful.

re: Agfa CR 35-X error E 229F5

Hello Engineers,
Service Code 229F5 was resolved by replacing the M401 Roller Lift Motor and also the Stepper Motor Board GS410. First we replace the M401 Roller Lift Motor because we found that the bearings of this part where damaged. As we keep getting the same error after replaced, we start to invert the GS410 Step.. Motor Board with the GS412 Stepper Board that are the same with different Jumpers configurations and we note that the error code given by the machine was different. We make same exercise again inverting the GS410 Stepper Mot. board now with the GS 602 IP Transport Board and we get another service code related with this section. Conclusion: "Stepper Board Damaged" . After the Stepper Motor Board GS410 replacement, machine is working properly without problems.
Thanks for all your support Friends!

Replace the suction cups.
Also replace the vac inline filters, the o-rings will fail with time causing a vac leak when the suction cups try to attach to the plate.
Another suggestion is to clean the back side of the IP, ONLY USE AGFA CR Plate cleaner.
A problem with the slow scan motor is usually a problem with that stepper card.
Remove the stepper card and move it to another location, be sure to readress it. If the error moves with the stepper card you'll have no choice but to replace it.
The stepper card is a common failure point in the CR25, 35, and 75 and 85's.
